About me

When I first heard the term "Schlachtenbummler" in history class, I fell in love with the sound and the word itself. In german it is defined as: a civilian who visits battle fields out of curiosity and it was used in a historical context since the end of the 18th century.
For me "Schlachtenbummler" means much more. It describes a person, who does not keep his nose out of others businesses, who does not let anything go; a person who is endlessly shoving deep holes and therefore only scaring his once pure soul. In a sense it seems like he is digging his own grave, but in a beautiful, exciting manner overflowed with enlightenment and sophistication.
Being a Schlachtenbummler, watching battles, tones of dark blood, splashed men falling in front of your feet, witnessing millions of deaths, harms you, traumatises you, it changes you. Yet you can learn the strategies used, acknowledge the strengths and weaknesses of the armies, study human nature and their emotions in a heightened, life threatening situation like this. whether it is worth it taking this risk, shall be decided by every individual himself.

Sometimes I think of me of as a Schlachtenbummler, sometimes I don't.
I think of me as a filthy Revolutionist or as the devil's daughter, as a Demigod, divinely gifted with the skill to string words together and make them sing for me.
Sometimes I don't think, I am certain, my heart is marked with letters forming words. It is a silent poets heart.
